Setting Up Your Organization

First-day admin setup — org settings, branding, default region, retention policies, and the access controls every team should configure on day one.

Last updated May 13, 2026

When your tenant is provisioned, Curated is functional out of the box — but a few admin settings on day one will save your team friction later. This is the short list.

1. Organization profile

Settings → Organization → Profile

  • Display name — what users see in the workspace title bar and exported artifacts
  • Tenant slug — fixed at provisioning (e.g., acme.curated.chat); contact support to change
  • Default region — geographic region for default basemaps and demographic vintages
  • Time zone — drives billing cycle anniversaries and timestamps in artifacts

2. Branding

Settings → Organization → Branding

  • Logo — appears in the workspace header and on PDF exports
  • Brand color — applied to chat accents and PlaceStory™ artifact theming
  • PDF report cover — optional custom cover template for exported reports

If your organization runs a private-label / OEM deployment, additional brand controls live in Settings → Widgets → Branding.

3. Authentication and workspace access

Settings → Authentication

  • Sign-in providers — enable/disable Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Salesforce, ArcGIS Identity
  • Workspace access — control whether users with your claimed domain (e.g., @acme.com) can self-join. Off by default. Turn on with a domain allowlist when you're ready for open enrollment.
  • Domain claim — verify your domain via DNS to gate self-service signups to your org only
  • Provider SSO + SCIM — available on Enterprise contracts; scoping happens through sales

4. Connections

Settings → Connections

  • ArcGIS Online — connect your AGO account (see Connecting Your ArcGIS Online Account)
  • Salesforce — connect your CRM (see Connecting Salesforce CRM)
  • Additional data partners — Dwellsy IQ, Hubexo, and other partner integrations available per contract; contact support to scope

5. Roles and users

Settings → Users

Three roles ship by default:

  • Admin — full org control, billing, user management, settings
  • Analyst — full access to Spaces, conversations, artifacts; cannot modify org settings or billing
  • Viewer — read-only access; counts as Viewer seat on tiers that include them

To invite a user: click Invite, enter email + role. They get a sign-in link.

6. Billing setup

Settings → Billing

  • Cycle anniversary — configurable day-of-month for credit reset
  • Credit pool size — based on your contracted tier and seat count
  • Per-user overrides — set caps or grant additional credits to specific users
  • Payment method — for SaaS tiers; Enterprise contracts handle billing externally

7. Feature flags

Settings → Organization → Features

Curated rolls beta features out organization by organization. Admins can opt into or opt out of:

  • Voice mode (default on)
  • PlaceStory generation (default on for Professional and above)
  • Marketing posts (default on)
  • Native analytics dashboards
  • New playbooks in beta

Beta features may change behavior or be rolled back; we email admins before rolling back anything load-bearing.

8. Retention and audit

Settings → Organization → Retention

  • Conversation retention — default unlimited; can be set to 30/60/90/180/365 days
  • Artifact retention — default unlimited
  • Audit log access — Enterprise tier; logs every admin action and key user events
