Compare Multiple Sites or Markets

From a list of candidate sites or markets to a ranked, sourced comparison — for site committees, IC, or portfolio reviews.

Portfolio-scale work — comparing 5, 20, or 100 candidates against the same criteria — is where Curated's value compounds. Run the analysis once, on the right methodology, across the whole set.

Two patterns

Pattern 1 — Compare a small set (2–10) in one prompt

Compare these three sites for a grocery format: 1500 Main Street Dallas, 2200 Pine Avenue Plano, 3800 Oak Boulevard Frisco. Rank on demand-supply fit.

Curated runs Site Selection on each, then produces a side-by-side comparison ranked on the criteria you specify.

Pattern 2 — Screen a larger set (10–500) against the same playbook

Upload a CSV of candidate sites first (see Importing Your First Data Layer), then:

Run Site Selection on every site in the candidates layer. Rank on the same criteria.

The Playbook Agent runs in batch. Expect 5–15 seconds per site for a typical scorecard run; for 100 candidates, the full screen takes a few minutes.

What to specify

The more specific your ranking criteria, the better the output. Vague criteria produce vague rankings.

Weak:

Rank these for fit.

Better:

Rank these for fit weighted 40% on demographic alignment, 30% on competitive density, 20% on traffic, 10% on growth indicators.

The weights show up in the output — anyone reviewing can see exactly how each rank was computed.

Reading a comparison artifact

A site/market comparison artifact has:

  • Ranked list with overall score per candidate
  • Score breakdown showing which criteria drove the ranking
  • Map view showing all candidates with rank symbology
  • Per-site detail card accessible by clicking any row — gives you the full scorecard

You can edit weights and re-rank without re-running the underlying analyses — Curated stores the criteria scores so re-weighting is fast.

Saving for the meeting

  • Export to PDF — formatted for IC, with the ranking table, map, and top-3 detail
  • Share artifact URL — for stakeholders who want to drill into individual sites
  • Create a PlaceStory™ — narrative-style for non-analyst audiences who want context, not just a table
